St. Charles Catholic Elementary School – JK-3 Regular Track

St. Charles School was built on a three-acre tract of land donated by the Charles Urlocker family in January of 1951. The building consisted of five rooms, containing Grades 5 to 8. The founding principal was Sr. Francis Hayes. Since then there have been three expansions to accommodate, the needs of the community and the growing student population. In September of 1999, the configuration of the school was changed to accommodate Junior Kindergarten to Grade 3 pupils.

St. Charles Catholic Elementary School is a part of the Denis Morris Catholic High School Family of Schools.

Jeanne Sauvé French Immersion Public School – G1-8 French Immersion

Jeanne Sauvé French Immersion Public School serves students from Grade One to Grade Eight. We opened our doors in September 2014.

Students in the French Immersion program take the same subjects as the students in the English program. The students will study the French language as well as other subjects such as Science, Geography, History, the Arts, and Physical Education in French. Students also receive instruction in English language and the Mathematics program is taught in English as well.

Designated school pathways have been developed to ensure that students have a continuation of the program from their entry-level to the end of Grade 12.

Thorold Secondary School has a long and rich history and we are proud to continue the Tradition of Excellence that began when a secondary school was first established in the hamlet of Thorold in 1857.

The secondary school building has stood in its present location since 1875, with several wings and layers being added over the years.

Sir Winston Churchill Secondary – G9-12 French Immersion

Sir Winston was founded in 1959, and named after the former British Prime Minister, known mainly for his leadership of the United Kingdom during World War II. Its campus features an all-weather, artificial turf, football/soccer/lacrosse field(to be completed in August 2017), an all-weather track, a parking lot, and a two-story building.

The building includes a gymnasium with multiple changing rooms for boys and girls as well as showers, a weight room, and an auditorium. A brand new, two-level, cafeteria was completed in 2013. The old cafeteria has been converted into a larger library, while the old library has been converted into two classrooms.

SWC is a barrier-free facility, courtesy of elevator access to all levels. The school’s colours are navy blue and gold, and its mascot is the Bulldog.
